Spirit of Democracy February 14, 1895 (part 2) Sardis About 12 o'clock Wednesday night the town was aroused by the call of fire which took the house occupied by Thomas Bowen. A crowd gathered at the home of Miss Sadie Brennans Saturday evening, and had a pleasant time. Mr. Henry Stoehr and Frank Shaffer were at New Martinsville Wednesday on business. George Case and A. C. Vetter were at Woodsfield Tuesday on business. The river is frozen over and lots of skating is being done. Mr. Samuel Hofer is at Hannibal with his parents.
