    3. Spirit of Democracy June 15, 1899 Sardis John Dally seems to be very unfortunate. He experienced another runaway Thursday, which left his nose in a very bad condition. Mrs. Charles O'Neill was at Proctor Monday, superintending the erection of their new dwelling. George Thompson, clerk on the H.K. Bedford, arrived home and has been laid up with tonsilitis. Miss Emma Stoehr was the guest of New Martinsville relatives and friends over Sunday. Misses Emma Johnson and Elva Anderson were shopping at Wheeling Monday. Mrs. Dr. Boice and daughters of Sistersville are the guests of relatives here. Mrs. Lowe and Mrs. Seibert were at New Martinsville Thursday. O.W. Cunningham was at Proctor this week on business.
