I believe there are at least two seperate clans of Hawkins in Monroe. I am descended from Samual Hawkins 1822 to 1856/ Elizabeth Sill, John L. Hawkins 1847-1921/Martha Wilson, J.Brade Hawkins/Ora Denbow. Sam Hawkins appears to have come from PA to Monroe County, but because of his young age at death I have found little info. about him. I find one reference that Sam Hawkins is the son of Thomas Hawkins/ Mary Moser of PA and later of Columbiana Co. Ohio. Sam and his family appear to have been missed in the 1850 census.
