Scott, My husband's fourth great-grandfather was James ATKINSON, one of the original settlers of Cameron. I would appreciate a photograph of a tombstone for any ATKINSON, ROSS, or WARD. James ATKINSON and his brother, Charles ATKINSON, were both Revolutionary War veterans and, according to my records are buried in Cameron Cemetery. Their father, Cornelius ATKINSON, and brother, William ATKINSON, were also Revolutionary War veterans. Cornelius remained in Pennsylvania after the war. William came to Monroe County but I do not know where he is buried. By the way, I am using a DSL line. Thank you for this kind offer. I was up for my family reunion this past weekend and decided to take advantage of the rare opportunity to conduct some on site research. My primary objective was to photograph Cameron Cemetery since it is no longer in use. I figured it might be a little unkempt, but that ended up being an understatement. The cemetery is in pretty bad shape and will probably be totally overgrown in the next year. Many stones are already unreadable, but I made a good effort to photograph as many as I could find. If you have an interest in any of the burials there, just send me an e-mail with what you are looking for and I will provide you with a picture, if one exists. Hopefully some motivated locals will take an interest in preserving this historical cemetery.
