I believe some of these people to be still living and they are my cousins. Can anyone out there help me track them down. I have looked in the Social Security Death Index and in many Phone directories throughout the country but many of these names are so common that it has been a fortune so far in postage to contact all of them and I have had very little luck in finding the correct persons. I thought perhaps that someone living or researching in the Washington and Monroe counties area may have knowledge of this family. Please help if you can! Seek information on the children of ARK E PRYOR and wife ELLA MAY (Mattie) MURPHY PRYOR of Hartsham, Monroe County and later Liberty Township Washington County Ohio. Ark E Pryor was born April 26 1877 in Hartsham, Monroe County to JOSEPH PRYOR (b. 1842, son of SMILEY & MARY PRYOR [Prior]) and LOUISA GIVENS (born 1845, dau of ANDREW & ANN GIVENS). Ark married Jan. 28, 1901 in Greenbriar, Monroe County to Ella May Murphy (b. July 17 1881) daughter of WILLIAM M (or H.) MURPHY (b. March 17 1858 [to 1951] Benton Twp. Monroe OH to THOMAS MURPHY and ATTILDA HILL Murphy) and ELIZABETH M. WILLIAMSON (b. Dec. 1860 to WESTLEY and NANCY WILLIAMSON). Ark and Mattie are the parents of possibly as many as fifteen children. On a Petition to lease real estate filed in Washington Co. OH Dec. 13 1938 it listed FRANCIS WILLIAMS Guardian of A. E. Pryor and incompetent person (listed as Plaintiff) vs. Defendants: ANNA Pryor WILLIAMS, FLOSSIE Pryor SHANKLAND, MARY PRYOR, WALTER PRYOR, JOSEPH PRYOR, HAROLD PRYOR, OPAL SEGAR, JOSEPHINE L ARCHER, VON PRYOR, BERNICE PRYOR, FAY G PATTERSON, ALBERTA PRYOR, age 11 yrs, BESSIE PRYOR, age 7 yrs, DESSIE PRYOR, age 7 yrs, ARK PRYOR Jr., age 5 yrs, and MATTIE MURPHY PRYOR. These are all believed to be (except for Mattie M Pryor who is the wife) children of Ark and Mattie Pryor. Does anyone out there know what ever happened to these children, are any of them still alive and if so what is their location? The only information I have been able to come up with from the above mentioned petition is that Anna B. Pryor married the Francis C. Williams listed above; Flossie M Pryor married JACK SHANKLAND; Fay G Pryor married a Mr. PATTERSON; Josephine L Pryor married EARL FOREST ARCHER; Opal F. Pryor married a Mr. SEEGAR, SEGAR, SAGER or SEAGER. Can anyone help me track down these cousins of mine. Thanks for any help you can give. If you prefer you can respond to me directly at dahlhouse@earthlink.net Best regards, Becky Murphy Dahl ______________________________

Dear All, I know you are all interested in finding information on your families, and I do enjoy doing look ups, but when I am given 3 or more names at a time it is overwhelming-especially when the names are common ones. I request you all limit your queries to one name. Also, with the holidays approaching and we are planning a wedding for February, I am going to have to begin cutting back on answering so many. I will do what I can until Thanksgiving. I also would like to post my Ohio surnames: Belmont Co: JOYCE, FRY CONNOR, DIXON, CRUMBAKER, COYNE, DIXON, CONROY, KELLEY Monroe Co: DIXON, FERRELL, POTTS, BECKETT, PIATT Muskingum Co: CRUMBAKER, MASON, SMITLEY, BRIGGS, LYNN, DICKINSON, CLINE Noble Co: DICKINSON, WOOD (both from England) Sincerely, J.L.

Hi - I recently purchased "Monroe Co. Church Records: 19th Century Records of Lewisville, Middle & Miltonsburg German Evangelical Protestant Churches" by Shirley Harmon. This is a compilation of the family books, baptism, marriage, death records etc. from the 3 German Churches. This volume is chock full of wonderful genealogy information! I started looking at the index in the back, as I knew that several of my families would be in there (Schaub, Jacky/Yockey, Stoehr, Neuhart, Wieneke). But I got so engrossed in the book that I started from page 1, and read it page by page! You can really see the families and their relationships and connections because of the witnesses to marriages and baptisms, plus where they came from in Germany. It's well laid out, and easy to look through. I heartily recommend this to anyone who has German connections in Monroe County. I have researched my families fairly thoroughly, but still found new information through this book. I bought it through Closson Press <www.clossonpress.com> Thank you Shirley for a wonderful job! Rebecca Rector Troy, NY (with many roots in Monroe County)
Thank you Rebecca. Your thanks made all of the work worthwhile. Friendly suggestion ... As someone who receives HUNDREDS of e-mails per day and has only a few SECONDS to decide whether to keep or delete each one, it really HELPS when people posting to the list puts the surnames in their notes in ALL CAPS. It helps the SENDER by increasing the chances of making a CONNECTION, and it helps all the RECIPIENTS by making it easier to monitor postings and pick out those of INTEREST.
Defendants: Anna Pryor Williams, Flossie Pryor Shankland, Mary Pryor, Walter Pryor, Joseph Pryor, Harold Pryor, Opal Segar, Josephine L Archer, Von Pryor, Bernice Pryor, Fay G Patterson, Alberta Pryor, age 11 yrs, Bessie Pryor, age 7 yrs, Dessie Pryor, age 7 yrs, Ark Pryor Jr., age 5 yrs, and Mattie M Pryor. These are all believed to be (except for Mattie M Pryor who is the wife) children of Ark and Mattie Pryor. Does anyone out there know what ever happened to these children, are any of them still alive? The only information I have been able to come up with from the above mentioned petition is that Anna B. Pryor married the Francis C. Williams listed above; Flossie M Pryor married Jack Shankland; Fay G Pryor married a Mr. Patterson; Josephine L Pryor married Earl Forest Archer; Opal F. Pryor married a Mr. Seegar or Sager. Can anyone help me track down these cousins of mine who I would love to meet! Thanks for any help you can give. Please respond to me directly at dahlhouse@earthlink.net Best regards, Becky Murphy Dahl
This would be a GREAT HELP to those who are older and/or has vision problems too. THANK YOU.
