    1. [OHMONROE-L] RE: [OHBELMON-L] FERRELL and HYDE families
    2. William Beckett
    3. Hello from Willingboro, N. J. I looked at all of the Hydes or Ferrills/Ferrells in your file, but none seemed related to mine. My earliest Ohio ancestor was John Beckett (abt 1775 - 1850) who came to Belmont County, Ohio in about 1811. He and his family (wife, Hannah and six children) moved to Green Township, Monroe County in about 1836 and he died there in 1850. His daughter, Margaret (1815-1892) married Robert Hyde (1811-1885) in about 1840 and they lived in Wills Township, Guernsey County, Ohio. They had children: Martha (b, abt 1841) John (b, abt 1843) Thomas (b, abt 1845) Hannah Jennie (b, abt 1847) Mary (b, abt 1851) Robert (b, abt 1852) Margaret (b, abt 1854) His daughter Elizabeth (1817-aft 1880) married Thomas Ferrell (1818-aft 1880) in about 1836. They lived in both Green and Center Townships, Monroe County. Their children were: Hannah Jane (b, June 1837) William (b, abt 1840) James (b, abt 1842) Rebecca (b, abt 1845) John (b, abt 1854) If you do find anything about these people, I would appreciate hearing about it. Regards, Bill A man that boasts only of his roots is conceding that he belongs to a family that's better dead than alive. -- Anonymous
