    3. Dear List, If any one has any idea how to obtain a copy of Wilma S. Davis' "The Federal Census of 1860 for Monroe Co., Ohio" could they please drop me a line. I do not think it is in print. The library copy of 1860 is so poor, it is illegible and again I am finding it necessary to ask for help. I would like to find Jacob YOSS in 1860. Monroe County. Karen

    3. To all, The above list is an awfully lot of names to look up!! I have 10 books that I check and I have to go line by line in each to find the surnames. If there are 5-8 listings for each surname it can take lots of time to look and much more time to type it all out onto the computer. Please understand! I have 80 back requests and in this one message 4 more have been requested! I am one person doing favors and I just cannot do this amount of work for each person. I don't want to offend anyone, but I cannot keep up with the rate of requests coming in-right now I am working on names from July 1999. Sincerely, J.L. 3. Hello All, I am back to doing lookups, but I am so far behind, please don't ask for anymore right now! I had planned to take a break until after my daughter's wedding in Feburary, but for now the wedding is off. Rebecca has Cystic Fibrosis and she's laying in a hospital right now with a 36% lung capacity and needing sinus surgery, but she can't have that until the lung capacity gets back up to a safer level. Since she is in a hospital that is more than 2 hours away from us I cannot visit with her as much as I would like to. In the meantime, I will try to do some catching up on the requests I already have. I hope all of you have a wonderful New Year. Sincerely, J.L.

Dennis (rdennis2@compuserve.com) Date: 10 Jan 2000 DENNIS SURNAME: Seeking information from anyone out there who may be a descendant of Absolum Dennis, Sr. and either of his two wives, namely Mary Ann Wilson Dennis and Jane Lockard Dennis....it is believed that Absolum had a total of 17/18 children. He & first wife Mary Ann were from Loudoun County, VA, coming to Monroe County, OH in 1831/1832, but previously having been in Belmont County, OH perhaps as early as 1828 or thereabouts. Believe they came to OH with Mary Ann's relatives, the Wilson Family and the Burson Family. If you know anything about families descended from Absolum, please contact me. I will share my fairly extensive information. Especially interested in finding info on daughter Olive Dennis born in OH possibly Belmont County, OH in about 1830 and her brother George C. Dennis both of whom may have gone to IA, MN or WS in the mid 1860's.
