I'm interested in seeing your family information and I would also like the addresses of the other family researchers. I have many questions about the Baker family. The information that is out on lot of the websites, doesn't make sense to me. According to most researchers, Elizabeth's father married twice, but his first wife didn't die until 10 years after he married his second wife, Sarah Farnsworth. I don't know if the dates are wrong, if they were divorced or there was some other reason. Also, I'm curious on who received the portion for Harvey's will for his daughter, Jane Casler. Both Jane and Fred Christner (Casler) were dead by time Harvey's will was executed. The will indicated that Harvey's daughter had a son and daughter and lived in Wisconsin which was incorrect since Jane had two sons and no daughters. The surname name was incorrect also, since their surname was Christner, not Casler. I also have some other questions on the Winland-Baker connections. Could you please send me an email address where I can reach you? If you plan to do research in Monroe County, the courthouse is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 to 4:30. Birth & death records after 1909 are located in the Health Department, which is in the Senior Citizens Building on Home Avenue in Woodsfield. It is two doors away from the Monroe County District Library, where the Monroe County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society maintains a Research Room for Local History & Genealogy. The research room is open the same hours as the library. The website for the Monroe County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society is www.rootsweb.com/~ohmccogs/. Randi, I would suggest you take time to go to the Woodsfield Ohio Library where there is a nice collection of local genealogy. I believe there are a lot of Yoho's from that county. Here is the web site for the Historical Society for Monroe County. It is just across the river from Washington County, PA., Monroe County that is. It is about an hour south of St. Clairsville, OH where I stayed. There is a Holiday Inn, Hampton and also a Best Value Inn, at the bottom of the hill from the Hampton and HI. The cost there is $250 for a week, no frills but another genealogist told me after I was already at the Hampton. The Hampton has a good restaurant and there are a lot of fast foods and a shopping center across the Highway, including an Office Depot or Office Max, something handy for copies of papers and material. I remember my first trip and how excited I was to see the places that Catherine Fedorchak located in the 1960's. That was in 2000. Since then I have been back two more times, each discovering more material. Good Luck. Consider staying in New Martinsville, WV. It's right across the Ohio River from Sardis, OH and about 20 minutes away from Woodsfield. Hi, I'm a descendant of Benjamin Martin Barker and Sarah Winland through their daughter, Elizabeth Baker b. 7 Jan 1832 and Harvey Hendershot. I'm confused on Benjamin Baker and his wives. He married Sarah Winland in 1824 and had children, Louisa, Margaret, Jacob (1831) and Elizabeth in 1833. Next, he married Katherine Farnsworth in 1844. But according to your website and others, Sarah (Winland) Baker didn't die until 1855, ten years after her husband married Katherine Farnsworth. Did Sarah and Benjamin Baker divorce? Also, who is the mother of these children of Benjamin Baker: Lucy Ann Baker b. 11 Sept. 1836, Sarah Catherine 9 Oct 1840, Dicinda P. b. 8 June 1843 and Cythina A. Baker b. 8 Dec 1845.???? Or is some of these children from a previous marriage of Catherine Farnsworth? Any theories?
