Does anyone have any experience with museums? Our family made some donations to the museum down in Huestons' Woods State Park, but I have never been back to check on if they still have the items, if they were put on display and so forth. We donated my Great Grandmother Erminnie Carl Mitchell's wedding gown as she was married in that gown in the house that the museum is now in. There were other items donated at the same time that they seemed to be interested in, but again, I have NOT been back to check and see if any of it was displayed and this was all done before 1974, so none of it might matter any longer. Also, where do you put this information for safe keeping? I have no children, two nephews and a niece, none with the Tucker name, and I am not sure how interested they will be in preserving it. I have heard that you can turn it in to the LDS Church, but I have never heard how to do this and I have NOT been able to get back information that I know was compiled on the Mitchell side of the family mentioned above by a cousin of mine who did that work. I can't seem to find anyone who will tell me how to get a copy of that information back to our branch of the family, so I am hesitant to deposit any information there. Don't know what has me thinking this stuff today, I hope they are suitable topics for the Miami Co. board. Thanks, Tim Tucker
Hi Tim, You asked: Also, where do you put this information for safe keeping? Do you mean genealogical information? If that's what you mean and your lines are from Miami County I would suggest the Flesh Public Library and also the Historical Society. Anyone interested would then be able to find the information there. I hope that I have answered understood your question correctly!
