Mary Brown threw me for a while, then I caught on Mary Castner Tucker Brown. I have no info on her past her marriage to Samuel Brown except her burial at the West Branch M. M. burial grounds in Miami Co., OH. I never knew anything about her living with or next door to Jonathan later. I later show Jonathan buried in Clark Cem, Liberty Twp., White Co., IN but have no idean when he or they moved there or if he was just shipped htere for burial as I also have no death information but the date of 20 Feb 1880. I also show your ancestor Jacob d 17 Mar 1877 and b. near Poplar Grove, Howard Co., IN. I also have that he maried Elizabeth Kessler 22 Mar 1819 and NO other information at all on that branch, no children or nothign downstream there. > > The indication that Mary's husband Abraham, b. 1773, died in Warren Co. > comes from a letter from Gale Honeyman dated 19 Aug. 1977, in which he > describes what appear to be loose papers filed in the administration of > Abraham's estate. I am, unfortunately, not much of a real geneologist, I just like to corral, organize and preserve facts before they are lost forever, which I have been doing as best I can. I was originally given some of this information by a distant relative of some kind who found us by putting an ad in the little paper in Lewisburg, OH, where WB Tucker resided for some time and my grandmother met my grandfather Robert K. Tucker. A friend of hers saw the ad and sent it to us after my grandmother died. This gentleman lived in northern Indiana, somewhere near Ft. Wayne (I hve somewhat more detailed info but it is several layers down in boxes right now and I can't shift enough stuff to get to them. Never heard of this Louis Jones person, though we lived in New Hope, OH for several years and my Grandmother and great aunt on the Tucker side lived there until they died, Aunt Nell in 1972 and Grandmother in 1974. That is about 8 or 9 miles from Richmond on US 35. > I would be happy to trade a picture of the chair known in my family as > the 'Grandmother Brown Chair' > for a picture of the Tucker cradle. > I will check and see if I can find and scan in a picture of the cradle. If I can not, when it gets warmer I will find someone who can climb and get it down from the top of the garage, assemble it and take a picture of it. That cradle started a fight between Marjorie Nell Tucker Renner and Laura Jane McConnaughey Tucker (Joe William Tucker's wife) that still had not been been settled at the time of Aunt Nell's death. Anything you would be interested in sharing, I would be interested in picking up to add to my computer files (I use Brother's Keeper for lack of any information as to anything better out there at the price - free to private users). I have some of "my" branch down to present day, some to the time where we lost contact with them and some with random info added as I discover it. > > Mary Lou > Thanks again. Tim Tucker >

    3. Those Census records that show Mary Brown in Jonathan Tucker's household in 1850 and 1860 and the 1840 record that shows her next door to him plus his marriage and one child, Nathaniel, who apparently served in the Civil War are all I know about Jonathan. Could you tell me who his other children were. The Tucker names you refer to must all be Jonathan's descendants -- I do not recognize them. Would you like info about Jacob's line in Indiana? Getting a picture of the cradle sounds like it would be complicated. It would be wonderful if you could do it. The chair is not so hard. Don't think I can send it via email ( my picture skills are lacking), tho some of my family might make it possible. My genealogical info is all on PAF (Personal Ancestor File) which I got shortly after it was made available by the Mormons. It was a very modest price at that time, and now it can also be downloaded for no charge. Perhaps not all is on PAF for I have correspondence, copies, and even pictures in the TUcker notebook. Louis Jones claimed to be a double second cousin descending through Naomi Tucker's marriage to Philemon Jones. 3. Mary Lou, In among again for clarity, I hope? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Lou" <mlspindt@verizon.net> > Those Census records that show Mary Brown in Jonathan Tucker's household > in > 1850 and 1860 and the 1840 record that shows her next door to him plus his > marriage and one child, Nathaniel, who apparently served in the Civil War > are all I know about Jonathan. Jonathan's children are as follows: Noah Tucker 18 Jun 1829 - ? ? 1889 Mary Elizabeth Tucker 1831 - Sarah Jane Tucker 16 Apr 1834 - 03 Apr 1858 John W. Tucker 21 Apr 1836 - 1 Oct 1885 Nathanial Tucker 18 Aug 1837 - 1 Feb 1902 Martha Tucker 21 Feb 1841 - 25 Jan 1916 Aaron Tucker 23 Feb 1843 - 7 Jun 1923 Naomi Tucker 23 Mar 1846 - 29 Mar 1873 Isabel Tucker ?? ??? 1848 - ? Zerilda Tucker 3 Aug 1850 - 6 Sep 1902 Theodora Tucker Unknown, died in infancy My direct line from this known point is: Jonathan Tucker b. 30 Nov 1804, m. 11 Jul 1825, d. 20 Feb 1880 His son Nathanial Tucker b. 18 Aug 1837, m. 30 Nov 1865, d. 1 Feb 1902 His son Warren Burrett Tucker b. 11 Oct 1872, m. 15 Dec 1896, d. 12 Dec 1946 His Son Robert Karl Tucker b. 31 Jan 1907. m. not sure, d. 22 Dec 1954 His Son (my Dad) Tom Warren Tucker b. 19 July 1930, m., 11 Feb 1956, d. 1 Mar 2001 The two mentioned in the cradle rumble are the sister Marjorie Nell Tucker Renner and sister-in-law Laura Jane McConnaughey Tucker, wife of Joe William Tucker, the brother of my Grandfather Robert K. Tucker. R. K. and my grandmother's wedding is kind of lost, she was a teacher in the last year of her contract (she contracted to teach for 2 years or something like that after going to college at Miami Univ. in Oxford (her home town) before she continued her life, but she met R.K. and they got married and kept it quiet to the end of the contract, to the point the real date was kind of lost. That should clear a few things up. > > The Tucker names you refer to must all be Jonathan's descendants -- I do > not recognize them. My youngest sister, her husband and some of her kids will be up again this spring or summer, wanting to help "clean things up". What they really want to do is throw all they can away now so they don't have to work so hard later when we have to clean out this house! I will just get a little useful work out of them in the process of throwing away a bunch of good stuff because they don't want to deal with it! > > My genealogical info is all on PAF (Personal Ancestor File) which I got > shortly after it was made available by the Mormons.
