Thanks to everyone for your input. I have checked the online sites - no leads there, but there were some fruitless inquiries back in the late '90s. I do hypothesize that my James Wade Haworth was likely a grandson of James and Ann (Coppock) Haworth (who had 16 children, the first half or so of whom were born in SC), but I haven't been able yet to make the connection. Last night, I ran across a document in my great uncle's papers that looks like it was copied from a book about the McCord family (who later married into James Wade's line), and it says James Wade's father was named "John Buck Haworth" (I believe there was a "John" among James and Ann's 16 children, so I'll have to follow that lead). However, I don't have a source for this info. Another thing that confounds the search is that public recorders (like census takers and such) often inserted a "y" into the name, making it "Hayworth," so I've learned that I have to check both spellings. I think I'm also going to have to check in Darke Co, as it is right next door to Miami Co and there were some Haworths there as well.
