Many of the Boyers in eastern Darke County are descendants of Daniel Boyer (July 20, 1799 – Dec. 30, 1846) and Elizabeth Hoff (Oct. 16, 1800 – Aug. 14, 1885) of Mannheim Twp, York Co PA. After Daniel’s 1846 death in PA, first his daughter and son-in-law, Mariah and Jacob Etter and her younger brother, Henry Boyer (my ancestor) and then their mother and most of their other sisters and brothers moved to Darke County. The family includes: Jonas Boyer (1823-1901) married Susan Roth Mariah Boyer (1825-1895) married Jacob Etter Barbara Boyer (1827-1912) married Peter Moul Manassas Boyer (1829-1914) married Lovina Luckinbaugh Catherine Boyer (1831-1902) Henry Boyer (1832-1917) married Mary Ann Miller Daniel Boyer (1834-1892) married Elizabeth Cable John H. Boyer (1836-1919) married (1) Lydia Martin, married (2) Mary Magdalene Maurer Samuel Boyer (1839-1903) married Sarah Martin Elizabeth Boyer (1841-1918) married Benjamin Gibboney Aaron Boyer (1843-1921) married Martha Ann Blue Last summer, I spent a day in York County sorting through guardianship and estate records and taking photos of Daniel’s headstone with its War of 1812 marker and his father Henry’s headstone with its Revolutionary War marker, fortunately close enough to each other that I could get both headstones in the same photos. Your Boyer, however, doesn’t seem to fit into this family. He was married to Minnie Belle Carns born in Montgomery County in 1873 and died in Miami County in 1927. If any one knows anything about Lyman's parents, I would love to know. I think Lyman's father was Francis Boyer and his mother Ellen Rebecca, but I have no other info. Speaking of the Boyer line .. My great great grandmother was Cecil Boyer, born about 1828 somewhere in Canada. She married Alexis Monet, also born in Canada. Their son was Herman Monnett, born 26 January 1856 in Canada and died in 1902 in Toledo, Ohio. He was married to Celina LaPlante who was also born in Canada and died in Toledo. Anyone related to this Boyer line? Ray Friess
