    3. My ggg grandfather, Robert Smith, came to Miami County, Springcreek Township around 1840. His wife was Maria Drake and the children were Anna Drake Smith, John, James Harrison Smith, and Mary Elizabeth. Anna married John O'Ferrall Wiley in 1854 and lived in Piqua almost all of her 92 years. John and James moved to Indiana in 1866. Mary married Joseph Clarkson in 1865 and moved to Dayton. Maria died about 1840. Robert moved to Shelby County in 1841 and died there. 1. Re: [OHMIAMI] Boogher
    2. Bruce McCrea
    3. The Peter Bucher/Booher/Boogher who died in 1807 in Salt Lick Twp., Fayette Co PA is my ancestor as well. However, the information about him in the earlier message does not match what I have. Documented information I have: Peter's son John was among a group of children baptized at Gute Hoffnung Kirche (Good Hope Lutheran and Reformed Church) in Salt Lick Twp, Fayette Co PA on Oct. 5, 1788, the first date in the baptism records. "Johannes Bucher" is the first name on the baptism list. His date of birth in those records is given as Sept. 21, 1788. John's mother's name is given as Catharina in the baptism records. Baptism records for a grandchild list Peter Bucher Sr. and Anna Catharina as sponsors, so the full name of Peter's wife must have been Anna Catharina. Peter Booher's 1807 will confirms that his son John was the only child not "of age" at that date and that his wife was Catharina. It lists his children, "namely Peter, George, Jacob, Henry, John, Catharina, Barbara, Elizabeth, Apolona, Margareth, and Rosina" in an order which I believe is sons oldest to youngest and then daughters oldest to youngest. Peter Sr.'s sons George and Peter Jr. both told 1800 census takers that they were 45 or older. That puts their birth years at 1755 or earlier. For that reason, I estimate Peter Sr.'s birth year at ABT 1735, not ABT 1741. There are several men named Peter Bucher/Booher/Boogher in 1700s PA. While I have seen parents listed on the web for the Peter Bucher/Booher who died in Fayette Co in 1807, I have never been able to find any documentation proving those parents. I would be delighted to see such documentation. 1. Re: [OHMIAMI] ROLL CALL - Coate, Anthony, Coppock, Mendenhall, Gardener
    2. My most recent Miami County ancestors are Samuel Teague Coate and Harriet Anthony (his wife). They were born in Miami in 1818 and 1821, respectively, and died in 1886 in Miami, OH and 1881 in Iowa, respectively. Samuel Teague Coate is the son of James Coate and Lurannah Teague. James was born in 1777, and Lurannah was born in 1786 in SC. They had other children besides Samuel and died in Miami, OH in 1839 and 1863, respectively. James Coate's parents are Marmaduke Coate and Mary Jane Coppock, who were born in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in 1733 and 1743, respectively. They lived for a time in Newberry, SC, and died in Miami, OH in 1822 and 1833, again respectively. Lurannah Teague's parents are Samuel Teague and Rebecca Furnas, who were born in SC in 1769 and 1764, and died in Montgomery, OH (a county neighboring Miami) in 1841 and 1862, respectively. Harriet Anthony's parents were Daniel Anthony and Susannah Mendenhall. Little is known about Daniel (I'd love any information) -- he seems to have been born before 1800, probably in the east (perhaps NC or SC) and to have died between 1820 and the early 1830s in Miami, OH (perhaps sooner, in that they have no other children, however, Susannah remarried in 1834). Susanna Mendenhall was born in Guilford, NC in 1799, and died in Marshall, IA in 1865. However, she lived a good part of her life in Miami, OH, and Daniel and Susannah were married in Miami in 1820. As referred to above, I know nothing about Daniel Anthony -- he's one of my brick walls. Susannah Mendenhall is the daughter of Caleb Mendenhall and Susanna Gardner, born 1769 and 1771 in Guilford, NC, respectively. Caleb died in Wayne, IN in 1848, and Susanna died in Ohio. They had numerous children, some born in Guilford and some in Miami, OH. Many of these people were Quakers, especially at the time they came from NC/SC to Miami, OH.

    2. Michael Reck
    3. All the RECKS are related one way or another. All came from one ancestor in Pennsylvania. In a sense, YES!! Harry Reck would be my 3rd. cousin three times removed. Actually we are also related through the "HINER" line also. Two RECK brothers married two HINER sisters. We are both directly related to them also.
