Hope to see you there! -- Elissa Wednesday, March 29, 2005: Northland Public Library, 300 Cumberland Road, Pittsburgh, 15237 is sponsoring a genealogy evening at 7 p.m. in its lower level meeting room with a presentation by Elissa Scalise Powell, CGRS. "Sailing into the Sunset: Tips for Finding Passenger Lists" will discuss how to find evidence of your immigrants' arrivals from the 18th through the 20th Centuries using case studies of German and Italian families. Sunday, April 10, 2005: Southwest PA Genealogical Society will hold its regular meeting at 2 p.m. at Citizen's Library, Washington, PA with a lecture "Finding Buried Treasure in the Published Pennsylvania Archives" given by Elissa Scalise Powell, CGRS. Understanding the contents of these published colonial records may help you discover details of your early PA ancestors. Free and open to the public. Thursday, April 14, 2005: Akron Public Library at 11 a.m. the Association of Professional Genealogists, Great Lakes Chapter will host a panel discussion on "Time Management for Genealogists." It will be held in Room 2AB in the newly reconstructed Akron-Summit County Public Library, 55 S. High Street, just a short block from the OGS Conference venue in the Crowne Plaza Quaker Square hotel. Thursday through Saturday, April 14-16: The Ohio Genealogical Society Annual Conference at the Crowne Plaza Quaker Square in Akron, OH will feature many national speakers and an exhibit hall that is free and open to the public to browse. Come and browse the latest in genealogical information and helping aids. Leland will present a lecture at 7 p.m. titled "The Witness: An overlooked genealogical source."
