    3. Hello list, I usually answer questions concerning the SIEGFRIRD family, but it's apparent I didn't look in the right place to find the death date and burial place of Joshua Siegfried. Maybe someone reading this can help. Here's what I have on Joshua: Joshua SIEGFRIED, b. 24 Dec 1791 in Bushkill Township, Northanpton County the son of Isaac Siegfried and Anna Maria Hochstresser (Isaac was the son of Joseph who was the son of Johannes SIEGFRIED of Maxatawny -now in Berks County). Joshua Married Anna Marie Kunkler and had 7 children. In the 1840 US Census the family is living in Bushkill Twp., Northampton Co. None of them are listed in the 1850 US Census for Bushkill Twp. I've Checked cemetery records and obits in Northampton, Lehigh, Berks and Centre Counties --- NO Joshua. I've checked the 1850 US Census for the state of Pennsylvania using all the variant spellings of Siegfried -- NO Joshua. I found Joshua's children in the Philipsburg area of Centre County -- NO Joshua. Some of his children moved from Centre Co., Pa. to Ohio. One son, Samuel F. SIEGFRIED(b.1829), moved to Medina County, Ohio and was married and had four minor children when he enrolled in the Union Army on 12 Aug 1862. He was mustered into service on 2 Sep 1862 and died of "Camp Fever" on 15 Feb 1863. His Military Pension record shows his mother (Joshua's wife) living in Medina County and later Wayne County, Ohio --- but no Joshua. I have two death dates for Joshua: 1859 and 11 Aug 1875. The 1859 date is on an orginal hand written manuscript that was handed down from Joshua's grandson, John Washington Siegfried (b. 1851). The other date, 11 Aug 1875 was given to me by "genealogist" A, who said he got the information from B. When I phoned B, he got it from C. When I contacted C, guess where they got the 1875 death date. You guessed it --- from A. I think the 1859 death date is the one I want, but it sure would be nice to confirm it and also locate Joshua's burial site. Looking forward to an overwhelming response to this inquiry. :-) Leon F. Borst Chester County, Pa.
