I have never been there before. Does anyone know if there is still a historical society in Medina? What about Valley City? I know there used to be one but cannot find anything about it now that I am going. Is there a library with old newspapers for the Valley city area on microfische? Has anyone visited the courthouse? I know that my ancestors in this county are buried at Mt Zion Cemetery in Valley City is there a listing of cemetery inscriptions for this cemetery somewhere?

http://www.medina.lib.oh.us/ Is the URL for the Medina County library. The staff is wonderful to work with here. The address is here on this page as is the OBIT INDEX which should help some. When you go in the front door, go upstairs to the second floor, when you get to the second floor go to the desk there and tell them what you want to do. They will let you in the Genie Room. You might want to call ahead and book the printer/reader. The copies are not charged on a per paper, you make a donation. The newspapers are in a filing cabinet, its self serve. Very nice setup! I believe they have the reading of the cemetery there. If you can't wait to see it and need a few simple lookups email me.
