    3. Are you a desc of Henry Porter? If so, we are cousins... I have less than you re Mabel Styer, However, I have quite a big more abt the Porters and have even been to their home village in Southery, Norfolk, England, where the Porter family has lived since at least Charles the I. William Porter and Mary Register had 10 children. I desc from their daughter Elizabeth b 1840 in Southery (listed as Betsey) in all records except her birth records. The Porters emmigrated in 1851 after the Norfolk Census and William applied for US citizenship in Medina County Jan 27 1852. Betsey married Samuel Cook, 4 mar 1841. They lived in Weymouth, Medina County. It's so nice to meet another cousin... I have corresponded with several. BTW The village of Southery has a very nice website with photos and a copy of the monthly newsletter that is circulated to the residents of the village I have plans for today but will try to sent you more info tomorrow Shirley HAAS Hulett San Diego CA On 9 Jul 2005 01:48:44 -0600 ShpGranny@aol.com writes: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: styer, porter > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HZB.2ACI/939 > > Message Board Post: > > i am looking for information on mabel styer born 1878 died 1917 she > married henry c porter born1862 died1986. mabel styer parents where > george w styer and celina sickman. henry c porter parents were > william porter and mary register. they had two children that i know > of: selena m porter b 11/29/1900 dob 5/8/1983 and george w porter > dob 4/17/1904 dob 4/9/1970. mabel styer porter, henry c porter, and > their son george w. porter are all buried in the poe cemetery. any > information you can provide will be greatly appriciated. > > thanks > > mary > > >
