They had one son that I can find born about 1897. This is purely assumption - both parents cannot be found after 1900, I am assuming they died young. The child, Albert is living with his grandparents Albert & Sarah Baugher on the 1900 census in Michigan.

The Great Lakes Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists is sponsoring an Advanced Genealogy Discussion Group. The next meeting is on Saturday, November 13, 2004. The purpose of the group is to discuss advanced genealogical methodology as presented in case studies that have appeared in various scholarly genealogical publications. The group meets the second Saturday of the month, starting at 10:00 am, at the Medina County District Library annex meeting room in September, October and November of 2004. The library is located at 210 South Broadway St., Medina, OH. The meetings last about one and one-half hours. There will be no meetings in July, August, or December. The discussions are free but pre-registration is required. Any experienced genealogical researcher is welcome to attend. As a pre-requisite, participants should be familiar with Dr. William M. Litchman's article, "Teaching Analysis, Logic, and the Research Process: A Seminar Approach", from the NGS News Magazine, Nov/Dec 2000, pages 340-343. Each participant is requested to read several times, in advance of the meeting, the article to be discussed at the meeting. The article for November is from the September 2004 National Genealogical Society Quarterly -- "Identifying John Tapper, a German Immigrant Laborer in Early Nineteenth-Century Philadelphia, though the Records of His Children" To register, or for any questions, contact Donna Gruber at djg@bright.net or call (419) 846-3533.

We are stuck with Jacob BOWERS also. We can't seem to get anywhere with information for him. We have not been able to find any kind of church records for any of the Bowers families. That makes things quite tough. We know that Jacob went to Michigan but we do not know where he may have died. We would like to locate his parents but have not had any success as of yet. We just keep plugging away! Cindy (o:

You said that it looks like I found Catherine Bowers in the 1900 census? I can't seem to find her in any census. I have been working at getting some cemeteries online in Michigan so I have not been doing much research. Did you find Catherine in a census?

It is a pretty small cemetery, - only takes about three pages in the book. Maple Hill Cemetery in Wadsworth Twp is located on the southeast corner of Seville Road (CR-16) and Mennonite Road (CR-51), just north of the church. If you have time, you might want to stop by the library in Medina. They also have a copy of the book, which has a map in the beginning of each township, indicating where each cemetery is located. It might make it easier to find them.

Is there anyone out there who could tell me how to locate graves within these cemeteries? Is there a caretaker for these cemeteries? Are they small enough that I would be able to search & find the graves? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My uncle William Thomas was born in Monmouth Wales in 1859. Jan of 1880 he married Trenvilla Mendenhal in Wadsworth. They had a son Bertie H. Thomas in 1882 who died after months. They ha a daugher Annie 27 Nov 1884 in Wadsworth...and i have no information after that date for anyone in that family. I do not find them in 1880, 1900 or 1910 census in OH. As far as family records go they didn't move from there. William's parents were Thomas and Ann Thomas who left Ohio with thes rest of the family and went west. William was the only one that did not leave OH. I would like to find Trenvilla's parents and siblings and find out what happened to this family and where and when they died. sandy_peel@yahoo.com
