Happy Holidays to all! Over the years that I have been on this list there have been many of you who have shared with me in various forms. Your help has been greatly appreciated. Now its my turn to give back. A gift was recently given to me and I want to share. My husbands step mother recently scanned 873 Ohio death certificates for me. She scanned them to cd's and included an index. I can not guarantee that I can help all of you, BUT, here's what I will do. IF you have an ancestor that lived either in Lorain or Medina and died between 1910 and 2002 and you have some idea of the year of death, I will check my cd's and If I have the death certificate I will email you the scanned image. This offer is good ONLY THRU 12/24/2004 midnight. If your request is in not in by that time, I can't do it. Keep in mind that most of the lines I am offering. Again I can't promise that everyone will be able to have their certificate found, but if I have it you can have a copy in your email. LIMIT ONE LOOKUP PER PERSON/HOUSEHOLD. Please don't ask for more than that, and I won't do Everyone with any given surname. One specific person please! Please send your request to karen@miprofgenie.com so that we don't tie up the list and put DC LOOKUP in the subject line. Merry Christmas my friends!

I'll take this Jean. . . Richard Sage, I have check the medina cemetery book and there is not one Sage listed as being buried in Medina County. I checked the Obituary Index of the MCDL and there is not one Sage listed. I suggest you write a note to the Medina County Courthouse: Probate Court and ask if they have a death notice. If they do, it will not be a full death certificate, but will have some information for you. I have a number of Sages in my data base, you might be interested if you have not seen. William R. Hello William The Ancestry.com database "California Death Index 1940-1997" has a record for Wilma: Name: ALEXANDER, WILDA VELIMA Social Security #: 287241911 Sex: FEMALE Birth Date: 14 Mar 1894 Birthplace: OHIO Death Date: 3 Mar 1995 Death Place: SAN DIEGO Mother's Maiden Name: WILSON Father's Surname: SWEET And the SSDI has: Name: Wilda F. Alexander SSN: 287-24-1911 Last Residence: 32778 Tavares, Lake, Florida, United States of America Born: 14 Mar 1894 Died: Mar 1995 State (Year) SSN issued: Ohio (Before 1951 ) The "Florida Death Index 1936-1998" does not have anything for her. It does for Gaylord Fredrick Alexander. I could not find anything about her in the Newspaper section of Ancestry.com. It seems to me that she died in San Diego, California. The SSDI will keep in file the last residence filed with them. So she died in California maybe visiting somebody, while her residence was still Florida. Hope this helps, Francisco
Dear Listers, Will SKS who has access to Ancestry.com Newspaper Index please look up Wilda Alexander. She is reported to have died in 1) Julian (Sand Diego) California, or, my favorite, Traverse (Lake) Florida on March 3, 1995 and was the widow of Gaylord F. Alexander of York Township (Medina) Ohio who also died in Traverse (Lake) Florida, 1962. William R. Shirley Hulett, I do have lost your address in one of my computer crashes so I hope this reaches you. I am looking for information/obit on Wilma Alexander who died in Julian (San Diego) California in 1994; shed was the wife of Gaylord (Gail) F. Alexander of Medina (York) Ohio. I have checked the MCDL obits and she is not listed. All the information I have on her is also on my Web site. Hope you are well, I have not seen you on the site for awhile. I have a copy of Tombstone Inscriptions from the Cemeteries in Medina Co., OH - 1983. She is not listed as having a grave marker in that county. Neither is there a Jabez. There are, however, four graves in Montville Twp., listed on page 219, in Poe Cemetery, located on the County Road-71 east of State Route-57, in Row 7. Perhaps they were related. HITCHCOCK, Caniel G., Nov. 25, 1881 - 77Y " , Patty, Feb. 2, 1865 - 81Y " , Emeling S., w., Nov. 10, 1885 - 74Y " , D. B., May 1865 - 57Y It is my understanding that it was not all that unusual for a body to be sent back East for burial with family members. GOOD LUCK! JEAN BEST hgb@inreach.com

She died 1 May 1850, presumably in Montville Township of Medina County. I have searched the 1850 Mortality Schedule and found that she died 6 days after a fall. Her family was from Oxford, New Haven, Connecticut and they have her listed as possibly being buried there with her parents. I don't think that if she died in Ohio, that they would have sent her to Connecticut for burial. She was married to Jabez Hitchcock. Does anyone have any information on death and burials for this timeframe?
Does anyone have any information on the Hadlock family of Brunswick? I need it from the new Brunswick History book. Thanks, Amber -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.290 / Virus Database: 265.4.7 - Release Date: 12/7/2004
Hi Re William Wilson being the first Medina county birth.... According to the Valley City/ Liverpool Township history written for the 1962 Sesqicentenial, Page 8, "On the first day of June 1812, a daughter was born to Alpheus and Minerva Warner. The child was name Sally Urnaia, and was the first white child born in Liverpool township.and the first child in the county."
