Hi everyone! The book will be heading into publication in a couple of weeks and will be available this summer. I have spent the last year scanning more than 800 pictures that people from this area have been kind enough to allow us to use. All proceeds from the book will go to benefit the Brunswick Area Historical Society. The cost of the book is $19.99. We are accepting prepaid orders now and if you prepay you will receive a discount of $1.30 (which is the sales tax and the only amount we can contractually discount). If you have roots in this area you will enjoy the early photos of Brunswick as well as those of the many families who settled here. To get an idea of what this special book will be like you can visit our publisher's site www.arcadiapublishing.com It will be a part of the "Images of America" series. As I have been meeting with people, interviewing them and scanning their pictures you will be happy to know that the Brunswick Area Historical Society has the beginnings of a Genealogy Section. I have obtained several local genealogies and histories and even a diary from early Brunswick. My dream is to some day have a research library available. The next project that I have planned is to begin transcribing some of the early Brunswick Township records which give a wealth of information for genealogists such as voting records, etc. We are hoping we can get as many prepaid orders as possible as it will help the historical society place a larger order and maximize our profits from the sale of these books. We rely on donations and our fundraisers to pay our expenses. If you have any questions - just drop me an email. To place an order, send your check for $19.99 to: Brunswick Area Historical Society P.O. Box 714 Brunswick, OH 44212 Thanks for taking the time to read this. If you are ever in town, give me a call and bring your pictures I'd love to meet you. By the way, I do still plan on continuing to scan pictures even after the book is published and they will all be available at the historical society as part of our archives. Juanita VAN SCOY, daughter of Lyman Van Scoy and his wife Lois SPARKS, was born in 1895 in Ohio (probably Huron County). According to VanScoy-Knapp reunion records she married _____ GREETHAM. I think I've found them in the 1930 census in Spencer, Medina County, Ohio. Harry W. Greetham, head, 34, married at age 22, b Ohio, father b England, mother b Pennsylvania, tool maker, axle factory Juanita Greetham, wife, 34, married at age 22, b Ohio, parents b Ohio Mrs. Juanita Greetham/Greshman, Wellington, Ohio is on the 1946 mailing list for the VanScoy-Knapp reunion. I'm looking for living descendants of theirs to invite to our reunion to be held August 13, 2005, in Huron County, Ohio. Frances Van Scoy vsk03@aol.com
Thought at least some of the list members would be interested in a brief news item published in the Summit County (Ohio) Beacon on 24 March 1880, 5:2. "Mr. Geo. Ruckle, brother-in-law of Mr. H.W. Wetmore and now of Cass Co., Missouri, is visiting friends in this cityh and vicinity. He left Sharon, Medina County, for the West about 12 years ago." George Ruckel was most likely the son (or grandson) of Peter Ruckel, who was born in Columbia Co., PA in 1798 and moved to Sharon Township, Medina County, Ohio in the 1830's. Be happy to supply a scanned copy for anyone interested. Bob Keener

He owned/lived/died in Trumbell County and is buried at the Old Pioneers Center Cemetery in Bristolville. He was married to Aurelia PORTER, David WILSON's wife Abigail's sister. Don't show any children that he named William with either wifes (the other being Hannah.) I do show he lived in River Styx don't know why he is buried next to his father William in Bristolville. Interesting note: Porter[R.P. for Riley Porter] Wilson purchased a coffin for William Wilson on Oct 6, 1850 from Amos Henricks. 1 coffin 6' 3" long for $6.00 Also in a census (that I didn't document very well!) 30 or younger; 1 son under 5; 5 females under 15 1826 Property Owner (Trumbull?) He was born in 1799. There are two other William WILSON's that are of the family, but they are further down the line and lived in the Cleveland, OH area.

Wm Sr first came from County Antrim, IR about 1752; served in the Amer Rev; married Jane MARTIN in York, PA (1780); removed to Wheeling, VA (W.V.); then to Bristoville, OH (1806). The boys David and John then removed to and were the first to inhabit Guilford Twp, Medina, OH (1814). There were other WILSONs that seem to inhabit the same areas at the same time as all of the above. Could they be Wm Sr siblings - if so I have no knowledge of them. I am not even certain of all the other siblings of David and John. So far I can't make a connection with your WILSON's. Does any of this sound familiar to you?

Apparently about 1868 he married a widow with two daughters, then he and his new wife had a daughter Laura (born 1869) and twin sons (born 1874). I have a census where they show the sons born a year apart, but my father remembers that his uncles were definitely twins. I still need to document that, however. The family lived in Sharon Twp. Andrew died c December 23, 1880, and the children were sent to live with various neighbors. Sad... Thanks again for your help! Sue Agnew Tahlequah, Oklahoma
