    3. Hello. I have received some information that Jane Sabilla COLBETZOR of Wadsworth, married L. G. WILSON of Guilford Twp, 27 May 1873. According to "Tombstone Inscriptions from the Cemeteries in Medina Co, OH" pg 127 & 128, they are buried in River Styx Cem., Guilford Twp. WILSON, L.G. Nov. 22, 1833 - Feb 4, 1902 Sabilla J. w/o LB, July 6, 1844 - Aug 3, 1899 Abigail w/o David, July 19, 1866 - 71y 11d David, Nov. 23, 1884 - 90y 1m 11d Mariette, 1836 - 1922 Caroline, d. June 10, 1848 - 2m 7d L. G. d. Aug 21, 1841 - 45y 4m 17d Is there anyone on this list researching this family? Sabilla COLBETZOR is the one I'm most interested in. JACOB does not seem to have a gravestone in the county, but BENJAMIN VANFLEET is buried in Crush Cemetery, located in Lafayette Twp, on Friendsville Rd (CR-35) south of Chippewa Road (CR-50) north of the Gray farm house back in a field. It is a VERY small grave yard. Pg 226 VANVLEET, Benjamin, Nov. 20, 1851 - 91y 8m 8d LEWIS, Rhoda d/o Lent, no dates VANVLEET, Hanna w/o Benj., April 6, 1858 - 89y I don't have any idea if Rhoda Lewis is related to Benjamin and Hanna (a daughter maybe??), but she is listed as being buried between them. - Jean Best

    3. I am interested in Herman. Canfield who was a state Senator for Ohio 1856-1860. I believe he had a residence in Medina Co . The Medina History of 1881 shows Hon. Herman Canfield as Lieut. Colonel Herman Canfield of Medina Co who was killed at Shiloh in 1862and his remains interred there and then brought back to Medina Co. A newspaper item of 1885 shows "Corporation officers Herman Canfield , mayor...... My interest lies in Herman Canfield's family , who his wife and children were..if there was a son Herman, who his wife was. I would also like to know if he was the Herman Canfield who maintained a residence in French Creek, Avon Twsp. Lorain Co in the 1850's. Most of all, Who is the H. Canfield shown on the tombstone of Rachel Morgan Canfield d. 1875 interred in the Butternut Ridge Cemetery of Eaton Twsp Lorain Co. Any help would be most appreciated... Marilyn Canfield

    3. Got to take a great vacation this summer looking for ancestors in New York and Connecticut. Finally have my Jabez HITCHCOCK pinned down to Sharon, Litchfield County, Connecticut in 1810. It is likely he was born in Derby, Connecticut, but I'm still trying to prove that. By 1820 he and his family removed to Canfield, Trumball/Mahoning Co. OH, and in 1840 he, his wife and four sons came to Medina County. There are also seven older daughters who may have married men who came to Medina. Looking for anyone else with relatives from the area of Sharon, Litchfield County. Or, anyone who might have a HITCHCOCK female as an ancestor. Thanks, Bobbi in MI
