    1. [OHMEDINA-L] Elizabeth Granville circa 1855
    2. Teresa Link
    3. Posted on: Medina Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Medina/394 Surname: Granville, Anson, Dinning, Thorington ------------------------- I am looking for anyone who has information about Elizabeth Granville (maiden name unknown) or her family. She was probably living in Medina County around 1855. She would have been born around 1770 and she and/or her husband possibly immigrated to the U. S. from England before 1853. We have very sketchy information about her family, only that her husband may have been a prosperous businessman. The names Dinning (or some derivative such as Denning or Denney), Thorington, or possibly Anson may be connected to Elizabeth Granville's family in some way. Elizabeth Granville was the aunt of Margaret Dinning Anson who also lived in Medina between 1849 and 1856, and one of her children was named Granville Anson. The name Granville also has been used in the Thorington family of Montgomery, Alabama. The Thoringtons are also related to Margaret Dinning Anson, but we haven't been able to find the exact link. We're hoping that a Granville relation will be able to supply our missing link. We're happy to exchange information. Thanks for your help. Teresa Link

    1. [OHMEDINA-L] Silas and Lucy MARIN 1850s-1860s Homer, Ohio
    2. Frances L VanScoy
    3. Edward Kemp MARVIN (1828-1863) and Lucy COOPER (1833-1897) were both born in Richland County, Ohio. They married in Richland County, Ohio, in 1851. Their first two children were born in Richland County, and their other five children were born between 1855 and 1863 in "Homer, Ohio" according to a 1904 published history of the Marvin family. Edward Marvin died in 1863. The children were named: Oscar, Austin, Charles, Francis, Lydia, Laura, Lucy. I have found towns or townships named Homer in 3 Ohio counties: Licking, Medina, and Morgan. However I have no clues about which is the right one. I'm trying to find out in which of these counties the family lived as a start to finding documentation on them. Does anyone on this list recognize my MARVIN family? Frances Van Scoy [email protected]

    1. [OHMEDINA-L] UPDATE on Myers/Eppler Connection
    2. Cherre
    3. Posted on: Medina Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Oh/Medina/391 Surname: Myers, Lawrence, Eppler, Loveland ------------------------- Hello, I am STILL attempting to locate further information on my Grandmother - Elizabeth Ann Myers - I believe she was born to a Susan Elizabeth Myers (b:1860 in Brighton Township, Lorain County, Ohio)and her first husband, Jacob Eppler (of Native American descent). I know Susan Elizabeth Myer's parents, Abraham & Mary Loveland Myers are buried in Isabella County, Michigan; having died in 1899 and 1904 respectively. I know Susan Elizabeth "divorced" Jacob and married a Jeremiah R. Lawrence in Ottawa Lake, Michigan about 1887. I know Susan Elizabeth had six children with Jeremiah: Margaret (b: 1888 in Birmingham, Ohio), Melissa, Theodora, Lucina, Agatha, and Walter. I found Susan Elizabeth and her children by Mr. Lawrence in Florence Township, Erie County, Ohio in 1900. I know Susan Elizabeth died in Townsend Township, Huron County, Ohio in 1933 and is buried in Birmingham, Ohio. I know, prior to Susan Elizabeth's divorce from Jacob Eppler, she and Jacob had at least one child: Loren Abram Eppler (aka Loring)b: 1883 in Riga Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS: Does anyone have any information that would indicate Susan had more than one child with Jacob Eppler prior to their divorce? I believe Susan and Jacob were the parents of MY grandmother, Elizabeth Ann Myers (bc: 1886). And, I believe there were other children born to this couple. However, to date, I've been unable to PROVE (or EVEN DISPROVE) it. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm beginning to question the Medina/New Philadelphia connection - but as I said - to date, I have NO proof! Thanks, Cherre

    3. Posted on: Medina Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Medina/389 Surname: Phinney, Shaw, Houghton, Yoeman ------------------------- Hi Ann, thanks for the posting. What I know about Hannah Yoeman has come mainly from the book "History of Medina County and Ohio" published in 1881. The biographical sketches were provided by the subjects themselves. Unfortunately due to typographical errors and editing there are mistakes. What I know about Hannah is she was born about 1777 in Connecticut. Shortly after 1807 she moved to Oneida Co., NY. She and Benjamin Phinney had 9 children, 1 dying young. The had a daughter named Louisa and a son named Lorenzo. Lorenzo is my 3rd Great Grandfather. Louisa married Isaac Blair in 1829. Louisa died between 1834 and 1837. Isaac Blair moved to Medina in 1834 and planned to move his family out from NY but Louisa died. I know that Lorenzo Phinney came to Medina in 1856, the year of the great sleigh race through the northern counties of Ohio. Awhile back I contacted a Phinney researcher and he showed that Hannah and Benjamin had possibly died in NY in 1856. I would be delighted with any info you could provide.
