    2. William R. Randall
    3. Dear Medina Listers, I am searching for a copy of "Effie Belle Randall of Bath, Summit County, Ohio" by Theodore Woods. Effie is a great-great aunt and in the direct line of my James and Joanna (Pemberton) Randall of Connecticut who are buried in Richfield.. According to WorldCat there are three books in libraries in the entire nation and it is my hope I can locate one in private hands of a local historical society in the state. This is the best lead on my family I have had in many years so I am very anxious to locate a copy of the book. Thank you for your time. 1. Re: [OHMEDINA-L] Carl Page
    2. I would try the 1920 census for Brownsville, PA. He would be 36 years old and probably the head of a household, so easy to find in the soundex. There are 4 Brownsvilles in PA, but the most likely one would be in Fayette County. When the 1930 census comes out on April 1, 2002, you can check it for Wadsworth to see if he had arrived yet. What did his death certificate and obituary say in 1967? Probate packet at the courthouse? Church records? The first Deed when he came to Medina county should say where he was living before. The last deed, if part of the estate, will show the legal heirs. Did you send an SS-5 form when requesting a copy of the original application for Social Security. The application will have next of kin and a physical description, as well as birthplace. Did he and his wife celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary? Look in the local paper around that date and see if the couple (and their family history) is not written up. These suggestions (and more) can be found by enrolling in a beginning genealogy class at your local community college or YMCA or genealogical society. They will tell you the logical progression from present into the past, from known into the unknown. I always pick up new tid-bits. -- Elissa On Thu, 21 Dec 2000 10:07:53 -0500 "Crystal Bassett" <[email protected]> writes: > I'm having a fit of a time finding out where Carl Page was born or > who his parents and/or siblings were. 3. Posted on: Medina Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Medina/430 Surname: Coggswell, Cogswell, Sippy, Bragg ------------------------- Akron, Indiana, then known as Newark, was founded on July 4, 1836, by several families from Medina Co., Ohio. Among them were Dr. Joseph Sippy and his wife, the former Martha Cogswell or Coggswell; Uriel (or Uriah) Bragg and his wife, first name unknown but believed to be a sister of Mrs. Sippy's, and their brother, Nathaniel Cogswell, listed as an unmarried man. Does anyone know Mrs. Bragg's first name and the names of her children? Does anyone know if Nathaniel really died in the California Gold Rush? Records in Indiana indicate he married twice, was widowed once and divorced in 1852. As Akron's historian, I am seeking to update early stories. Any information will be appreciated.
