I just finished reading an article in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly (Vo. 88, No. 4, December 2000). It gives a well-documented account of a Phillips family from NY who came through Erie, PA to Medina Twp., Medina County, OH. Amity Phillips was born 18 July 1797 in NY and died 31 July 1850 in Medina Twp. She had married Albon M. CARR on 6 May 1820 apparently in VT. The CARR children married STONE, SMITH, TEED, DYER, and DOUGLASS. Just thought a family member might like to look up the article since most major libraries would have the periodical or access to it. -- Elissa ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Tracing the descendants of Benjamin Baker (1797 -1883) and Catherine Markley (1802 - 1864) of Guilford Twp. Mary Baker (1829-1919) the oldest child of Benjamin and Catherine married Jacob Leatherman (1834-1904). There second son Benjamin Franklin Leatherman (1868-1960) married Isa Everhard (1870-1946). They had seven children. I am interested in contacting the descendents of Harry Donald Leatherman (b 1901 died before 1995) who married Lela Gish (1903-1995). They had one daughter Betty Lou who I believe is still living. From an obituary of Lela Leatherman I believe that Betty Lou had two sons. I would be interested in corresponding with any descendant of Harry Donald Leatherman (or any descendant of Jacob and Mary Leatherman).
I am looking for the descendants of Lloyd James (or James Lloyd) Abrams (b. 1886) and Mary Leatherman (b. 1981). They were married in Wadsworth Ohio on Feb, 6, 1909. According to the 1930 census they had five children Rhoda (21) , Ronald (19), Martha (11), Ruth (9) and LaVonne (3 ½). Please respond to trmcguire@earthlink.net Thank you Terry Mcguire
