Brouse Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HZB.2ACI/844 Message Board Post: Hello! I recently came up from Columbus to visit Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth and found a whole plot of Brouse family members toward the front of the cemetery. Most of the stones were in pretty bad shape, and some of them were completely unreadable. Does the cemetery office keep good burial records, and if so, how would I contact them? I think most of the graves I looked at were from the mid-1800s. I would love to know more information about who is buried there but haven't been able to find any contact information for the cemetery. Please email me at melissajohn@hotmail.com if you have any information on how I can get these burial records! Thanks.

If he is, he could be Lester Barnes' son. That is one Barnes we have found little information on. We believe Lester Barnes was born about 1814 in New York. Have you found a census for George that would show where his parents were born? I do know that there were several Barnes in Medina at that time but our family would have already left Medina Ohio by that time. I will keep his name in mind and if I run across anything I will let you know!!

    2. Rita Weimer
    3. If you know that your ancestor belonged to any family association such as the Ballou, Bradford, Chase, Dickinson, or Starr Family Association find out who was the secretary. Reason is that they may have left the notes and records to a local historical society. My great grandfather was one of the founders of the Ballou Family Assoc and the secretary for the Starr Family Association. His manuscript collection contains members handwritten Starr genealogy applications and some obituaries and even a few photos which he left to the New England Historical and Genealogical Society (NEHGS) in Boston. My clue to look at this manuscript collection came to me when I quizzed my mother on what she remembered about her grandfather. The thing that impressed her the most was that he use "to file every letter that came into the house in a box in the basement."
