I have finally gotten the civil war records on my ancestor, Phillip M. Tracy, which gave me his place of birth as Hocking Co, Ohio. In searching that county, I believe I have found his family of Johnathan F. Tracy. Here's what I am searching for now. His widow applied for and received a pension on his service. What I need to find now is a record of his death. I know he was mustered out of the army in 1864. I don't know when he died, but his widow was remarried by 1866 when she had another child.
