He's my 3rd greatgrandfather. Arch was a veteran of the Mexican War - fought all the way to Mexico City. In '49 he moved to Carroll County, MO to settle on land given to vets of that war. Henry Dominy was the son of Nathaniel Dominy III of Long Island. This family and their intermarriages with other Long Island families are extremely well documented. In fact, you have Mayflower families through the Dominy line. Go to www.dominy.com and you'll find a ton of stuff. Nathaniel IV (Henry's brother) was a famous furniture maker and clock maker in Long Island. His furniture and clocks sell for six figures in NY City. There is a museum dedicated to him in the Hamptons. Do a search on Excite under "Nathaniel Dominy" and see what pops up. It sounds like we've both got a lot of letters from Delia.
