Dear List, I'm looking for history and information about a machine repair (garage?) business called "BRIGGS Garage" or "MERCER'S Garage". I think my maternal grandfather, Harold Lee BISHOP b. 1900 in Massachusetts or Rhode Island, may have worked there sometime between 1922 to 1926. Birth certificates for 2 of his children say that his occupation is "garageman". According to the 1920 Census his prior occupation was as a traveling salesman for the Jewel Tea Company in Akron, Ohio. Harold Lee BISHOP is of Canadian Scotch-Irish descent. (Both of his parents were born in Canada; they did not become naturalized and both are buried in Summit County, Ohio.) A rare family photo of a young Harold Lee Bishop is posted here, http://members.fortunecity.com/researchtree1/bishop.html Any information would be gratefully appreciated.
