One person e-mailed me tht they didnt think Madison county Hist. had a newsletter even so it would really be fruitless to join if tht is the case . The best Society I belong to is Tazewell county , Illinois. They have lots of volunteers tht are really into the history for the area . They alpabetize all obits they runacross -- > by name . They put all kinds of data in the newsletters ie -- land records - obits - news items out of old newspapres --> it is great . Some of the ladies do lookups for nominal charges .
