    1. Re: Madison County Infirmary
    2. RE: << According to a copy of a death certificate for a relative who passed away in Madison County on January 27, 1909, he resided at the County Infirmary. Does anyone have information on this infirmary and could you provide me with that information? ------ Charlene >> Charlene, According to: History of Madison County, Ohio, Chester E. Bryan, Supervising Editor, 1915, B.F. Bowen & Co., Inc. The "first inmates were admitted" on July 31, 1866. It was still in existence as of the book's 1915 publishing date. I'm not sure if it's still open. In 1915, it was located ---- "about three and one-half miles southwest of London, in Union township, and is situated between the Jefferson, South Charleston, and Xenia turnpike and the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, & St. Louis railroad." The book also refers to the infirmary as the "county farm". Hope this helps! Sherry
