Range twp is the largest and closest to Sedalia. Sedalia was a half way stop for the herds of livestock being driven to and from Cincinnati Oh. There were at one time 5 hotels and large holding pens for the livestock surrounding the town. This might be one of the reasons the cemetery was located out of town.
