This came in on the Clark-Champaign mailing list. If you have German ancestors who came into Madison from VA you might want to take a look at these sites, esp the first as it lists the settlers. There is also a second letter that I will forward. The colony was called the Germanna colony and it lists names on the website listed. http://www.germanna.org/index.cfm This is all that came in on the Clark-Champaign mailing list. As for as the "story" in the library in Washington CH, I asked and was told that it is in a "folder",. but the person who found it couldn't remember what/which folder only that it was the name of one of the people who came, and that would mean a German name. She couldn't tell me how many pages there were either, so I don't know if it is a thick or thin bundle of paper. Sorry that is all I can tell you. You might write the library and ask; someone there may know. Ann
