He married Eliza Jane Melvin (8/21/1840-5/18/1873) she died in London. Date of marriage unknown. They had one child: Helen Peck b: 5/29/1869. She married a man by the name of Converse. Johns second marriage was to my gr-grandmother Edith Clarissa Thacker. Children from that marriage: Frank Melvin, Con Ewing, Lella Marion, & Percy Raymond Olinger. John was wounded in the Civil War. He died on 6/1/1900 in London. I have copies of his war records and widow's pension records that Edith received benefits from. Please email me if you like. [email protected]
