I was frustrated by the designation Madison, Ohio for 6 weeks. I was trying to find the marriage lic. for my g. grandparents that the LDS said was in Madison, Ohio. Finally the computer led me to the file behind that information which said that they had filmed it in London Ohio courthouse. So, I was insistent and got the marriage certificate. I live in Greene Co. and find that my Badgleys and the Downeys that they married, were all over the area. Now, I am into Clarke Co. but always on the line near Greene. I think it has something to do with roots and the changing of Greene Co. lines way back when Clarke was created. So you must read about the creation of Ohio and it's counties if you are researching back in 1800. Another help for me is to download some of those early maps of Ohio off Ancestry and tape them by the computer. As I search the early 1800's, I glance over and think about how hard it was to walk with all those trees in the way! Linda Swaney Sabin
