Dear Lists: With the gracious help of a very kind soul, I'm going to take a different approach to hunting my mysterious maternal grandfather, Harold Lee BISHOP born August 1900 in MA. According to 2 Akron obituaries, dated 1939 for his father Howard Emerson BISHOP and 1940 for his step-mother, Theresa, Harold Lee was not mentioned in either one. Although, his sister, Georgina M. was mentioned in both. (Georgina died in 1977 in Akron.) Harold Lee's & Georgina M's mother, Margaret Jane HAYMAN-Bishop died 1921 and is buried in East Akron Cemetery (although no marker has been found). A large scale search for a death certificate for Harold Lee BISHOP has turned up nothing! For Harold Lee BISHOP, I have scoured the SSDI and every other suitable database I can find (even in Canada) to no avail. I was wondering if anyone had easy access to directories for the Summit County areas of Sawyerwood, Barberton & Akron -- and the -- Union County area of Marysville & Plain City and the Madison County area of Plain City from the year 1926 to 1939 to see if there is a Harold Lee Bishop is listed anywhere in those areas. Sometime between 1922 and to his 1926 disappearance, Harold Lee BISHOP was to have worked as a garageman for a man named Briggs Mercer at "MERCER'S GARAGE" in the Madison Co. portion of Plain City. [NOTE: A Harold L. Bishop with wife Dorothy B. was found in 1940s directories - this person was also named Harold Lee Bishop - he is not my missing grandfather.] Much thanks in advance for any help that anyone might be able to give me.
