John Ervin Surname: ERVIN, IRVIN, ERWIN, or IRWIN, JEFFRIES, JEFFRYS However the name is spelled, my ggg grandfather, James ERVIN and his wife, Sarah JEFFERIES were living in Franklin Co. (now Madison Co.) in 1807 when their son, John ERVIN was born. One thing I have discovered is that James appears to have managed Needham & Hume (a merchandiser) after 1816.
