I'm searching for Elizabeth Boysel (sometimes spelled Boisel) who was living in 1912 when her husband, Daniel Boysel, died and was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery. I don't know her date or place of death, but I think Elizabeth would have been buried at Oak Hill as well if she died in the area. I'd appreciate any information on death date or burial site for Elizabeth. Thanks.
Thank you, Yolanda, Bob and Sherry, for the advice. Since I cannot any time soon make the trip to Ohio from NJ, I'll try the Family History Library. I've never done this before, so it will be an educational experience for me. The only reference to London, Madison Co. as the birth of my grandfather is from my father's birth certificate (amended). By 1900, he was in Logan Co.living with an 'aunt and uncle', then spent 40 years in Chicago, IL, and he died in Potter Co., PA. He was a traveling man, I guess. Thanks again to everyone. The Ohio Historical Society in Columbus has copies of Madison County records. They also have on online index for statewide deaths, including Madison County, from 1913 to 1937 at http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/. If you visit in person, the death records go through 1940 something - I think 1944. They also have a good selection of Madison County newspapers, and the census, of course. I usually look here before I go to the county. For cemetery records, there are several indexes at the Madison County Library in London. They are in the genealogy section. They also have copies of old funeral home records, an Obit card file (index cards with obits on them), and a surname file, as well as census records. Hope that helps. > I'd heard that he had no children, but then saw reference to a son, > with no mention of an adoption. So I wasn't sure. John's and Harriet's daughter died when she was about 8 and they adopted a little boy they named John Day Bricker (Harriet's maiden name was Day). He is in his 70's now, but had three (or four-I can never remember) children, one of whom is a son also named John. > The only thing > in print that I'm aware of that purports to trace the Governor's family > is held by the Ohio Historical Society in their library, entitled "The > Bricker and allied families, King-Timmons, Madison County, Ohio" by > Frank W. Gardner, but unfortunately it's in Ohio and I'm in New York. I have a copy of Mr. Gardner's work and it is indeed extensive. Unfortunately, there are a number of errors in it. My father and uncle made numerous corrections and notations in their copies. Considering what I now have is as good as it can be until I can add more names and dates for other things, I have chosen to work on another family branch. John and I were first cousins, twice removed. Ann Bricker Newsom Columbus, Ohio

She was in an orphanage in the Columbus area. Goldie may or may not have married Mr. Clemens? They did have one son together a Herbert born Jan. 1922. Thank you the reply. Angela

Mansfield and Mary Ann (Lawn) Clemens had 16 children (born 1863 to 1890) and at least 14 lived to adulthood. I don't have Goldie Foreman listed as one of the wives of the 14 Clemens children that I have information about, but it's still possible she is connected with this family. Do you know approximately when Goldie married a "Clemens" or her birth/death dates? Joani H.

So I wasn't sure. I've heard briefly from two different Brickers who said they thought that he was an uncle or great uncle, but I suspect that not a small number of Ohians by the name of Bricker think they may somehow be related to him. This includes someone who my own research indicates is not, so I am trying to locate someone else who has a pedigree confirming that he indeed is a relative of ex-governor Bricker, in order to try to convince both men to join the Bricker DNA Project and compare their DNA results. The only thing in print that I'm aware of that purports to trace the Governor's family is held by the Ohio Historical Society in their library, entitled "The Bricker and allied families, King-Timmons, Madison County, Ohio" by Frank W. Gardner, but unfortunately it's in Ohio and I'm in New York. Regards, Dale Bricker
