Could you tell me who Ella's parents are? I have some early Arbuckle obits and might have something on them. The volunters at the London Library have been indexing the obits in the old newspapers, so they might have something on Ella. Do you have her obit? There were two large cemeteries started in the London area and many bodies were moved from the small cemeteries to either Kirkwood or Oak Hill cemeteries. Have you checked their records? These are just a few suggestions and I will check for an obit if you don't have one. Pat

Surnames: Wilson, Hull Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GZB.2ACI/939 Message Board Post: I am seeking information regarding Peter Wilson, born about 1820 in Virginia. He moved from Hampshire Co. Virginia to Clark Co., Ohio in early 1860's with his family, to avoid the ravages of the Civil War. In 1880 census, he was living in Fairfield, Madison County, Ohio with his family. His wife was Louisa (Hull) Wilson, born about 1825 in Virginia. By 1900, Louisa had moved back to West Virginia, and died in 1906, in Preston County, WV. I suspect Peter Wilson died in Ohio, but can find no evidence to substantiate this.

This really isn't a tip, although it may be good to keep in mind. It may be good to determine when the cemetery transcript was made - that may tell you if vandalism or deterioration over time may come into play at all. As an example, my g-grandparents (EDWARDS) are buried in Foster Chapel Cemetery south of Plain City near I-70. I remember visiting this cemetery as a child and there were many more headstones than there are today due to vandals. Jonathan Alder's cabin even used to be there. So, my g-grandfather has a headstone, but my g-grandmother does not. Could it be possible your ancestors are buried there and there simply isn't any record? john > I have a transcript of an Arbuckle cemetery, and she isn't listed. I tried several local cemeteries on a trip in 2001 or 2002, but found nothing. I searched through the London library pretty well, but of course wouldn't be aware of anything acquired or transcribed later. > > Any tips? I have a reading of Somerford Twp cemetery. Says it was inventoried by persons unknown in 1969 or 1970 and by Scott Esplin and Boy Scout Troop 696 in 1988. Did not see your Ella (Eleanor) Arbuckle Conover listed in the reading. I looked up the 1870 Somerford Twp, Madison Co. OH census and found them on pg. 24, census taken on 23 June 1870, Post Office: Lafayette Conover, James: 27, m, w, farmer, 250, b. IRE " , Ellen: 20, f, w, keeping house, b. OH " , Cora: 9/12, f, w, at home, b. OH " , Joseph: 70, m, w, farm laborer, 900, b. IRE Possible she is buried in Deer Creek Twp Cemetery, just a short distance from Lafayette, or did she go to Illinois with husband and died there? My husband and I did a photographic inventory of the remaining gravestones at Arbuckle Cemetery on 25 Jun 2005. The photos are online at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~rocky/madison_cems/arbuckle/arbuckle.htm Though I don't know for sure I'd bet that there are members of the Arbuckle family buried at Somerford Township Cemetery, too: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~rocky/madison_cems/somerford/somerford.htm Enjoy!
