Surnames: LEE, BURRIS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GZB.2ACI/981.1 Message Board Post: I have been trying to trace the Lee family of Madison County, who married into the Burris family of Range Township. Here is a bit more about the Alinda Lee and Joseph Burris whose marriage you listed, and also about Robert Thomas Burris and Erin Lee. Alinda Lee, born about 1828 in Virginia, was married to Joseph D. W. Burris, son of Samuel Burris and Elender/Eleanor Richardson, on 2 August 1849 in Madison County, Ohio. Joseph was born about 1829, probably in Range Township, Madison County and died before 1900. Alinda was still alive for the 1910 census, living at New Holland Village, Pickaway County, Ohio, with three of her sons. Her name is also found spelled Allinda and Alcinda. Joseph’s brother, Robert Thomas Burris, was married to Erin Lee (perhaps a sister to Alinda) around 1850. Robert was born 1830-1834, probably in Range Township and died after 1880. Erin was born on or about 26 May 1827 at Culpeper Court House, Culpeper County, Virginia and died 27 Feb 1902 at Elgin, Van Wert County, Ohio.

    3. Searching for children of Henry Roland who lived near Newport. I found one son Thomas H. in London in 1870. I believe John E. Roland is his son also. He may have served in the Civil War as a letter says he has been ill in Louisville but was getting better. By 1865 he was in Newport with Josina E. Roland (joseanna in one census). She later married Reuben Elliot. There was apparently a connection with the Crist family in Fairfield co OH. I am trying to establish that connection. Thanks for any help. I have appreciated those who send information before. Margaret Calvin
