He was born at about that time but was married to Abigail Perkins (who must have died before 1910). Daniel was listed in the 1930 census in London, Ohio with my Grandmother Nettie Barnes. At that time my father was listed as a boarder in Greencastle, Indiana while he attended Depauw. Carey Barnes has been elusive for me. Dawn Barnes Costello

According to other family info, James was never found, his body that is. It was thought he was either drowned or killed. His widow came to DeWitt County, he had twin daughters who lived to be in their 80's and I have info on their lives here, one died in or near Atlanta, Ill and one in or near Armington, I think. Or maybe the widow of James died there and the children were farmed out or adopted out. I need to re-check that story! I cannot understand why Eliza/Elizabeth would not have a stone. Others in her family did even at that time. Possibly as Jesse re-married pretty quickly and the children all came to Ill. with him, it just did not get done. Or maybe she actually was buried in Highland County ! I also have no info re her father William Moore/Moor
