Listed was the 1911 Census of Canada, P J Dew, Spouse Celia F. Birth: mm-location. Residence 1911-Yukon Territory. Listed later was Canadian Genealogy Index 1600s-1900s. P J Drew. Vital: year-location Yukon Territory, Residence - Canada. I don't have access to Canadian census so I couldn't check them. You might be able to check them if you have a genealogy library near you. In 1870 Celia Dungan definitely was living with John and Susan Dungan, but she was their granddaughter, not their daughter. On the 1880 census, the relationship is clearly written. Also the 1883 book The History of Madison County lists the children of John Dungan who are still living at that time, and Celia is not listed as one of their children. I also found a newspaper announcement of Celia's wedding and it stated that she was the granddaughter of John and Susan Dungan. Her husband, Park J. Dew (not Drew), is my relative, part of a large clan of Dews from Perry County. What I was hoping to find out with a newspaper announcement of Celia's birth, was the actual names of her parents. I'm guessing that her father might be Jehiel (I've seen it spelled Jehial and Johile) Dungan who is mentioned in the 1883 book as being deceased. I also found a marriage record for Johile Dungan and Isabella W. Tuttle in Clark County dated October 17, 1860 ! which would be the right time for them to be Celia's parents. I have Celia's death certificate, but the father's name is not really legible although it starts with the letter "J" -- there is a notation on the certificate that the mother's name is not known. John Dungan had two other sons whose names started with "J" --Jesse and James. Jesse died in Tennessee and his Civil War pension form lists his mother, not a wife, and James was living in 1870 with his wife and children. Park and Celia's daughter Vera Dew was born in Madison County on February 7, 1889 and I know that she died young, but I don't know where they were living when she died and I don't know when she died. Park and Celia went to the Yukon in the Klondike gold rush in 1898 and there is no record of Vera being with them, so I'm assuming she died sometime between 1889 and 1898. If you come across any information about Jehiel Dungan, I would be greatly appreciative. John Dungan died March 6, 1888 (according to his tombstone in Oak Hill Cemetery), but perhaps an obituary would mention his children and grandchildren. I'm trying to think of alternate ways to find Celia's parents and would welcome any suggestions. The photo was taken by a London, Ohio photographer so that's why we looked there and fortunately found her birth but not her death. We had just a few hours at the Ohio Historical Society library and looked for a newspaper announcement of their wedding to see if it would say where Park and Celia were planning to live so I would get an inkling of where to look for Vera's death. There's a Martha and a Rebecca and they both married men named Rayburn. I started looking into the Dungans because my ancestor married Celia Dungan and I've grown to love the Madison County Dungans because they basically stayed in Madison County and were prominent enough to get newpaper mention when one of them died or was married. The main exception, of course, is Celia who lived in Canada for a while and then ended up in Florida.

I was aware of the paper at the Ohio Historical Society, but I have not had very good experience finding local news tidbits in papers that have either Democrat or Republican in their title. I was hoping that the current local paper The Madison Press would have old issues dating back to 1862 (since they list 1842 as their beginning date) either at their facility or at the local library. I called the paper and was informed that the library would be the source for old publications. I tried to look at the library web site to determine if indeed they had old publications, but I could not access that information without an Ohio library card. I then called the library, but no one answered the phone (yes, it was during the hours that it was supposed to be open). Posting to this board was my last ditch effort to avoid the library loan route which has also not been the most successful for me.
