Looking for any information on any HILDINGER families. Probably from late 1800 to early 1900. From Germany to Fairfield co area to Madison near London, I think. Any help appreciated. Thanks Margaret Calvin
I have an obituary from Fremont for a 4th cousin of mine, Thomas Klavinger. His apparently died in Madison County. I have posted the article from Fremont below, but would like to see if there is an article from Madison County that lists the findings of the investigation. Can someone help me with this article search? Published: Fremont News-Messenger, Wednesday, October 18, 1978 pg 1 col 4: Headline: Genoa Man's death probed LONDON - The death of a 23-year old Genoa man whose body was found Monday morning in a Madison County creek has been classified as a "suspicious death" by Madison County sheriff's deputies. Although an official ruling has not been made, Madison County Coroner Dr. William T. Bacon said that Thomas Klavinger of 416 Superior St., in Genoa apparently died of a skull fracture and broken neck. He said it may be several weeks before an official ruling is made. Deputies said Klavinger's body was found around 8:23 a.m. in Little Darby Creek east of the village of West Jefferson. A time of death has not yet been determined. Klavinger's cars were both still in Genoa and deputies said they were investigating how he got to Madison County. They reportedly have few clues and no suspects. Thanks for any help someone can lend. There is a copy of a story in the records of the Fayette Co. ,Ohio Gen. Library in Washington C.H. It tells of a cavalcade of 700 people who came from Virginia to Ohio together. Among them were Bush, Peterson, Harper, and Coil(Coyle,Kail)(I think) this reply came in.... signades@bright.net wrote: I do not have it...I read it at the Fayette Co. This came in on the Clark-Champaign mailing list. If you have German ancestors who came into Madison from VA you might want to take a look at these sites, esp the first as it lists the settlers. There is also a second letter that I will forward. Range twp is the largest and closest to Sedalia. Sedalia was a half way stop for the herds of livestock being driven to and from Cincinnati Oh. There were at one time 5 hotels and large holding pens for the livestock surrounding the town. This might be one of the reasons the cemetery was located out of town. I too have family buried there. thanks Paat
