Hi List, This is in response to a message by Susan McHale Brockel. I have a partial copy of a compiled census list that was put together by Father Clark in 1937. This census was an attempt to a list of who were members of St Patrick's Catholic Church in London in the year 1875. Michael Casey and Johanna Kelly are on the list, with the following children: Daniel, born 1871; John, born 1873; and Johanna, born 1875. No other information was provided. There was a similar compiled census for 1860, but there were no Casey's listed. There is another Casey family in the area at the time of the 1875 parish census. This was Cornelius Casey, and he was also married to a Johanna Kelly (born 1841). Cornelius was actually dead by 1875. They had four children: Julia Casey, born Dec 08, 1864, baptized Jan 01, 1865, godparents: William Dineen & Ellen Kelly. Mary H. Casey, born Apr 03, 1866, baptized Jun 17, 1866, godparents: Michael Hearly & Ellen. Johanna Casey, born 1870. Patrick Casey, born 1872. I have read in records that the Cornelius Casey family is related to the Dineen's; William Dineen is my great great grandfather. I do not know if Cornelius and Michael are related. I have so far found nothing to support that they are related. Steve Slattery

Hello, I'm looking for information on a 1920s-1930s repair? business (that I thought had been in the Union Co. side of Plain City - but apparently not) - called BRIGGS or MERCER or BRIGGS-MERCER. I was hoping that someone might have access to old directories and would help me with a time line on my maternal grandfather's employment from 1922 to 193?. According to the 1920 US Census my grandfather, Harold Lee BISHOP b. 1900 in Massachusetts, worked for the "Jewel Tea Company" in Summit County, Akron, Ohio as a "salesman". Apparently while he worked for Jewel Tea he traveled to Union County where in 1922 he married my grandmother, Thelma Gladys INSKEEP and then (may have been) employed by this MERCER? repair shop as a handyman, either full time or on a temporary basis. Also, according to Harold & Thelma's children's mid-1920s birth certificates, Harold Lee's occupation was listed as "garageman". IF such a repair business existed, would someone know if a photo of the business exists? I'd like to obtain a copy of a photo. Also, I'd like to learn the history of this business. Does anyone know where old employee records might be found if they exist? Any tidbit would be greatly appreciated - as all elder family members who would have actual knowledge are deceased. Thank you in advance for your time and any help you might be able to give me. Jacquie (California)

Hello - I'm trying to track down the name of the first husband of my great-great grandfather's sister, Ella Higgins Atkinburg/Auttenberg/Autenberry Alwood. Ella was born in 1853 in Ashtabula Co., OH. By 1860, she was living with her parents in Gustavus Twp., Trumbull Co., OH. By 1870, the family is living in Tuscola Co., MI, and Ella is no longer listed with them in the census records. Sometime prior to 1869, Ella married a man by the name of Atkinburg, Auttenberg, or Autenberry, and they had a daughter named Speedie Arvilla ___ born March 28, 1869, and the stories are circulating that she may have been born somewhere on Lake Erie or in Cleveland. It is assumed that afterward this first husband died, because Ella married William Alwood in 1873 in OH before moving with him to Tennessee. One suggestion has been made to me that Ella and her first husband may have come through Madison Co. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks! Hi - I am wondering if anyone has a list of people that are buried in the Morse Cemetery in Rosedale, Madision County, OH. I am looking for surnames Morse, Collins, Bates and possibly Atha or Athey. At the time I am specifially looking for Jason A. Morse, d. 12/22/1857 and his wife Margaret Collins who probably died shortly before 1849. Jason and Margaret were the parents of Anjinette Morse, b. 1844 and Edward Henry Morse, b. 1842. After Margaret's death, he married Martha Mann in 1849. They had one child that I am aware of, Jason Preston Morse, b. 1850 in Milford Center, Madison Co., OH. (Can't find Milford Center on any of the old maps). Any help appreciated and would love to share what I have with other Morse, Collins and Bates researchers. Thanks, Connie

My grandfather's last name was Slattery, and he had 6 brothers and one sister who would probably attended the school. Please let me know where I can learn more about Midway High.
