    1. BISHOP, HAROLD LEE
    2. Jacqueline Baral
    3. Good morning everyone, This is my brick wall that hits a dead end approx. (around) December 1925 - January 1926. I'm looking for Harold Lee BISHOP born August or September 1900 in USA, Massachusetts or Rhode Island. [I have a birth certificate from EACH state.] According to the 1920 US Federal Census, his parents are registered as Canadian "aliens". Thus, could he have traveled to and decided to reside in one of his parent's homelands?? Harold Lee Bishop, his parents & one surviving sister moved west to Ohio from New England about 1902-03. His parents are Canadian born - father, Howard Emerson BISHOP of Albert County, New Brunswick, died 1939 in the US in Summit County, Ohio; mother, Margaret Jane HAYMAN-Bishop of Colchester County, Economy, Nova Scotia, died 1921 in the US in St. Petersburg, Florida but is buried in Summit County, Ohio. According to stories (and a few documents), Harold Lee Bishop was in Union County, Ohio until January 1926 and then maybe in Summit County, Ohio up until (about) 1928-1930. From about 1922 to January 1926 he was to have worked as a "garageman" for a Plain City sales & repair business called, "Mercer's Garage" or "Brigg's Garage". [I have verified the name of such a business.] A cousin's wife has posted a page for our BISHOP family, http://members.fortunecity.com/researchtree1/bishop.html - which has a rare photo of Harold Lee Bishop and his eldest (of 3) sisters. Hopefully the photo & name will ring a bell with someone. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone might be able to give me. Happy Holidays to everyone, Jacquie (USA, California) I have submitted this query to these lists: "[email protected]" "[email protected]" "[email protected]" "[email protected]" "[email protected]" "[email protected]" "[email protected]"

I know nothing, however, about Henry Johnson's family and thus the posting to this board. I know nothing of the family moving to PA, but do know the family moved to Doniphan County, KS. I know Roseanna died there and am "assuming" that Henry did also.

    1. Hereditary blood disorder
    2. Hi Everyone, My ancestors were pioneers of Ohio and some lines of our family moved counties in the Dayton area. Our line moved to northern Ohio from Pennsylvania and Maryland. Other lines of our family moved to Ohio from Virginia and W. Virginia. Some of our names are DAGUE (DAGE, DEG, DEEGEN), SWINEHART (SWEINHARDT, SWIHART), HARSH (HIRSCH, HEARSH), GIFT, SMITH, ARNOLD, NEFF, SCHMIDT, GEYSLER, GILBERT, HOOVER, SWAGLER, HOWE, LABAR (LAWAR, LABARRE), FLICKINGER and, SWICKARD. I don't know all of our surnames because maternal names are often lost in families and of course, I don't know the surnames of all our Ohio relatives I am writing to ask if any of you know of a hereditary blood disorder in your family called Hereditary Sphereocytosis. My hematologist said that 50% of my relatives probably have this disorder because it is autosomal dominant. Sometimes this disease can be silent, as it had been in my family until my mother's cousin died of it (probably of a ruptured spleen) and her son and I were diagnosed with it and had spleenectomies. Sometimes Hereditary Sphererocytosis is so subtle, it can't be seen on a regular red-blood count smear. Apparently a regular RBC smear doesn't pick it up in our in our family, but a hematologist will know what to do to be sure. My hematologist said that he recently had a patient in his seventies who had no idea that he had this blood disorder until tests picked it up. Because even those who have the more serious form of the disease can have subtle symptoms, it can be dangerous if someone has it and doesn't know it. Hereditary Sphereocytosis is characterized by small, fragile, sphere-shaped red corpuscles and most people afflicted with it are of northwestern European descent. Sometimes anemia and jaundice are obvious with this disease, but sometimes, those symptoms are subtle, even in those who have the more serious form of the disease. This has been the case in our family. I would be grateful to hear from anyone who might have this disease in their families. One reason is that my hematologist has found some mysteries associated with my form of Hereditary Sphererocytosis that I would like to compare with others who may have some of the same difficulties. Another is this could be a great way to find cousins who have so far been lost because maternal names change and we lose track of family lines. This is a relatively rare disease, so it may be a good first step in finding cousins. Cathy Martin ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
