Dear Lists: With the gracious help of a very kind soul, I'm going to take a different approach to hunting my mysterious maternal grandfather, Harold Lee BISHOP born August 1900 in MA. According to 2 Akron obituaries, dated 1939 for his father Howard Emerson BISHOP and 1940 for his step-mother, Theresa, Harold Lee was not mentioned in either one. Although, his sister, Georgina M. was mentioned in both. (Georgina died in 1977 in Akron.) Harold Lee's & Georgina M's mother, Margaret Jane HAYMAN-Bishop died 1921 and is buried in East Akron Cemetery (although no marker has been found). A large scale search for a death certificate for Harold Lee BISHOP has turned up nothing! For Harold Lee BISHOP, I have scoured the SSDI and every other suitable database I can find (even in Canada) to no avail. I was wondering if anyone had easy access to directories for the Summit County areas of Sawyerwood, Barberton & Akron -- and the -- Union County area of Marysville & Plain City and the Madison County area of Plain City from the year 1926 to 1939 to see if there is a Harold Lee Bishop is listed anywhere in those areas. Sometime between 1922 and to his 1926 disappearance, Harold Lee BISHOP was to have worked as a garageman for a man named Briggs Mercer at "MERCER'S GARAGE" in the Madison Co. portion of Plain City. [NOTE: A Harold L. Bishop with wife Dorothy B. was found in 1940s directories - this person was also named Harold Lee Bishop - he is not my missing grandfather.] Much thanks in advance for any help that anyone might be able to give me. My daughter, Eileen, and I have been researching all the Slattery's in Madison County for about two years, and we have quite a bit of information on the Lacey's. They had seven children, including two that died on the voyage from Ireland to America. We do not have the town where they came from, or their immigration date. Where did you locate these and what other info can you share. We have most of our information on computer, and it fills about five pages. I will email it to you. Hello Steve, Most interesting article of an era gone by. It shows what kind of possible epidemics were spreading at a specific time in history. It's seems a little odd that measles isn't mentioned. I am looking for information on Daniel H. McINTOSH born in Scotland about 1764. He was a carpenter. He had a wife Jane (McAULEY, McALLA) born in Pennsylvania. They were married in Lexington, Kentucky in 1807. In 1819, they moved to Madison, Ohio. They had sons: John born 1811 in Lexington, James H. born 1813 in Lexington, and Daniel, Jr born 1818 in Lexington. When they moved to Ohio, they had Rachel (possible middle name Elizabeth, or Elizabeth Rachel) born in 1826 and a son Lewis born in 1824. They left Ohio in 1836 to live in Pike Twp, Warren County, Indiana. I am looking for baptismal records for the two children born in Ohio, land records, or other confirmation that they may have been in the area. It is possible that they had other children who are not documented or who died. I know they had a son William in Lexington, KY born in 1808 and died in 1811. I don't know the religion or I would also try church records. Both Jane and Daniel died in Warren County, Indiana. Perhaps their son James or Daniel married in the area. John, it is said, never married. Thank you, Pam

Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
