Oh Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Madison/10774 Surname: Whealer, Ballard, Stires ------------------------- UPDATE: It's now believed Josephine Whealer Ballard was 22, not a teenager, when she married William W. Ballard in Pickaway County, OH in 1885. In the Pickaway County 1880 census (she's 17) she is living in the household of William Stires who attested to her marriage. She gave birth to my grandmother, Mary Anna Ballard in Mt. Sterling, MADISON County, 3 Nov. 1885. Josephine may be buried in Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling; a letter query, with SASE, sent months ago to the cemetery supt.has not been answered. Josephine's mother's given name may have been Elizabeth since Stire's wife is Elizabeth. Looking for Josephine's parents. Info to share on descendants. Any help greatly appreciated. Don Poland, Allison Park, PA.

This is most disheartening and threatens all of us who are working so hard on our family trees....especially when we are aiming for true legal documentation for our lines.
