Hi, My name is Norma W. Matthews, I live in Georgia but was born in Cleveland, long, long, long ago ;-) I am a direct of the BLACKWELL'S (Edwin and Magdalena Ann (Laney Ann) Dieffendorf Blackwell) who came to Lorain County from New York state by 1846. Their children: James b 1839 NY d 1863 Orchard Knob, TN, Mary G. b 1844 d 1846 OH., Josiah Alanson b 1846 Lorain, Cty., OH., d 1921 Lorain Cty., OH I know there were other Blackwell's located in that area, don't know if they were related or not. I have only one family member who will be 93 later this month, and she can't help much. Is anyone else researching THIS--BLACKWELL family? I certainly could use some help. I have an aunt, whom I can vaguely remember from my childhood, who lived in Elyria. Her name was Grace Blackwell Foster Spri/enger. I spent hours looking at records at Ancestry.com last night trying to find out when she died. I last found her in the 1930 census, but after that absolutely nothing.
