    3. The post card collection that Mary posted to the list were very nice to see again. Hopefully we will see some of them at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohlorain/pictures/index.htm soon Time marches on......and changes do take place. .....the First United Methodist Church at the northeast corner of 6th & Reid is now named the Cornerstone United Methodist Church as of late 2001. The church building is now officially on the real estate market. Dwindling membership, funds make it impossible to maintain the building for the small congregation. Vincent United Methodist Church, on north side of Route 254, just east of Rt. 57, has been sold to the school system and that congregation has now merged with 1st UMC, hence the church was renamed. .....The beautiful 1924 Masonic Lodge at the southwest corner of 4th & Washington Ave. in Lorain, is being sold to a local businessman. Masons & Eastern Stars can continue to meet there for another three years as tenants if they choose to. .....The old Lorain Carnegie Library, now used for city storage, just had the time capsule taken from its cornerstone by city officials in the past few weeks. The story was in the Journal. .....Of course the shipbuilding yards area almost unrecognizable, when the ship building ceased long ago and the place became part of the Spitzer complex, with a private marina and some condos to soon overlook the Black River. .....Other changes that I will leave to some of the Lorainites themselves to mention. Many of these changes bring memories and a few tears to eyes. -- Nancy M. Meyers, Lorain OH

    3. Thanks for more info on these postcards. I know very little about any of them. honestly they are all images I have gathered online for the past few years. I only know what I could read from the image and any note I may have jotted down about them. If anyone else has any info on any of these images I would love to hear it.
