Ruth, Checked with negative results for you David & Catherine Cook. There are several pages of indexed women's names in the 2 volume set of PIONEER WOMEN OF THE WESTERN RESERVE. (These books contain little vignettes.) There are hundreds more names indexed to compilation of data from field notes for the 1896 project. An effort was made to have a committee in charge of each township. Does it come as a surprise to you to know that in 1896 Women's Dept. of the Cleveland Centennial Commission had trouble getting enough volunteers to a make this a complete project? So some townships/communites went unrepresented in this work. There were 216 townships to be covered, most were 25 miles square. As far as Lorain County goes, the townships of Camden, Columbia, Henrietta, LaGrange, Pittsfield, & Ridgeville did not submit lists of data that were later microfilmed by the WRHS. However in the the set of books, there is mention of LaGrange & Ridgeville. Tried to check the queries at the Lorgen query pages, for your David Cook. Was trying to refresh my memory a bit and get a little more information. Vaguely recall a request to look for some David Cook info from someone long ago. -- Nancy M.
