    3. July 17, 1901 Avon abstracted from weekly column Mrs. GIBBS of Newburgh is visiting her daughter Mrs. Joseph WALKER. Pearl DYKE who has been visiting her grandfather J. EASTMAN returned to her home in South Lorain. Charles METCALF of Elyria was in town Monday in the interest of A.R.WEBBER for probate judge. Miss Maggie OWEN from Lake Shore visited Mrs. Albert CHESTER on sunday. Mrs. A.O. CURTISS, Miss Grace BRUCE and Mr. Wm. HENSON of Elyria and Mr. & Mrs. Geo. DEMOLINE of Cleveland, attended the funeral of Mr. A.C. TOWNSHEND. Mrs. Joe HINKLE of Cleveland is visiting her parents mr. & Mrs. CASPER. Mrs. W.W. BRUCE spent a few days with I.C. BAUGHMANS. Herbert JACKSON of Cleveland is at his grandma's Mrs. C. MOON. Mr. & Mrs. John BUDINGER and family of Cleveland are visiting at J.S. TOWNSHEND's. Miss Mary BUCK is in town. Miss Nina WARDEN has returned home from Cleveland. The Baptist Society will meet with Mrs. Geo. MOON on Thursday noon. Alfred C. TOWNSHEND died at his residence on July 8th, 1901. He was born Leicester England on Feb. 6, 1827. He was married 46 yrs ago to Mary HENSON who died in 1876. They had lost two children in 1864. Four years ago his older & only brother passed away.
